Cindy began
her organizing business in 2001, after helping a neighbor’s
niece clear out an aunt’s house. The niece lived in
Mexico, and had three weeks in Maine to distribute 33 years
worth of accumulated possessions. Being the giving, resourceful
and organized person that Cindy is, she elicited exclamations
of “You are really good at this, you ought to start
a business!” And, as they say, Home Transitions was
born!
Although Cindy graduated from Bates College,
she never went the career route. Instead, she used her many
skills in a variety of jobs, including children’s photographer,
seamstress, (very) small business owner, nanny, administrative
assistant, and most importantly as a wife and mom. As her
children grew through their school years, she tackled many
volunteer jobs in the community, from schools to Scouts to
Little League. They loved to see Cindy coming as they knew
she would have everything organized and well run. Then, with
her children grown, Home Transitions was a natural byproduct
of her experience, skills, and solid reputation in her community.
Cindy’s organizing philosophy is
to clear out what you don’t need or love, sort what’s
left, and then organize in ways that work for YOU. Everyone
has different ways of thinking and processing information,
and it is important to set up systems that work for a particular
person. No cookie-cutter answers here.
Her greatest organizing strengths include
patience, persistence, resourcefulness, and an ability to
see things from other points of view. She puts herself in
the shoes of others, is nonjudgmental, and handles situations
with that in mind. As for the organizational part, she is
able to see the whole picture while tackling the pieces methodically
and thoughtfully. Cindy’s sense of humor keeps things
moving along in a lighthearted manner for her clients.
In her own words – “By offering
Professional Organizing Services to Clear Out, Downsize, Organize
your Home, I help my clients in a variety of circumstances,
and in a hard-working, respectful, motivating manner. It is
truly gratifying to help people." |
